What to follow when buying rollerblades?

How to protect yourself when buying rollerblades so you don’t fall into a marketing trap? Which type of rollerblades is for you? You will find out everything in this article!

What type are you looking for?

First of all, you need to determine the type of rollerblades you are looking for. The two most popular are quad and inline. The first are simply roller skates. The second are more standard – they have wheels arranged in line.

Inline

Their main advantage is the ease of maneuverability. Many people therefore use them to do tricks, but also as a replacement for skates. Some people recommend learning to skate just by reaching for an inline. A certain obstacle for some may be maintaining balance.

Quad

The familiar roller skates of yesteryear are coming back into fashion. The arrangement of the wheels makes them more stable than inline. That’s why many beginners prefer the quad type as their first roller skates. They are inferior for maneuvering and performing complex tricks. On the other hand, they are great for dance frames. There are entire sets of choreography you can learn on quads.

It is worth noting that the brake in the inline type is attached to the rear. In the case of roller skates, it is located on the front of the shoe.

Rollerskating outdoors or indoors?

An equally important consideration is where you intend to use the rollerblades. This matters when choosing wheels. After all, they are not all the same. Their differences are precisely due to the adaptation to the space where you want to move.

So-called indoor skates, as the name suggests, are adapted to indoor spaces. The assumption is that they have a harder construction, but less grip. This allows you to increase the possibility of maneuvering, sliding, performing tricks, etc. In such equipment you can safely glide on specially prepared tracks with obstacles.

Outdoor space wheels are preferred by people who would like to have more grip. They are especially recommended for beginners. Their soft texture absorbs more shock, so we can ride on uneven sidewalks and so on.

There is, of course, a third type – universal. The hardness of the wheels is centered between the above two types. This type of wheels is usually bought for the youngest or complete beginners. The more your level rises, the more you yourself will find that choosing any of the specified types brings more benefits.

Rollerblades with a high or low stand?

The last issue that we think you should pay attention to is the choice of the height of the state. Some rollers reach behind the ankle, while others reach it. The difference is not only about the comfort of the foot in the shoe, although this too is very important. However, if you are a beginner and would just like to skate, then indeed choose the type in which you feel more comfortable.

However, if you want to focus on intensive riding and choose a specific style, then condition matters. Visuals aside, rollerblades that end in front of the ankle are usually used for long-distance riding. They will be great for derby, touring, on athletic terrain, etc. The high condition, on the other hand, will be better for those who are engaged in professional riding, artistic riding, etc.
